Along the journey of growing our business, EMTEQ, from a small, two person, basement start-up to an international 100M organization, we came across many inflections points that got us stuck. Today, we are passionate about imparting the lessons we learned to those who wish to be successful, and our passion to see others succeed continues to grow.

Our proven business strategies and growth tools that were created to help EMTEQ grow are consolidated into our business advising structure called STUCK Breakthrough Strategies.

STUCK Breakthrough Strategies is a unique model of systematic entrepreneurialism which provides the strategies, tools, and courage to move your business to the next level. This model is based around five key areas: assessment, planning, creation, deployment and execution.

This process is aimed at helping small to mid-sized businesses from all industries move to the next level. We work with business owners who have the courage to get out of their own way to create a culture of growth. When this is done, employees will be engaged and empowered, allowing for the owner to work on the business and not in the business. When a business has this culture, our strategies and tools will be effective in implementing a systematic approach to growth.

Here’s How it Works

Every business that we have worked with is different, which is why our services are catered and flexible to ensure that they get the guidance they need to be successful. We don’t believe in a “one-size fits all” approach to advising.

If you have a current business plan that is too long and hard for your employees to follow, we will help to right size it to one page. Or, if you don’t have a business plan, we will help you create one. If your leadership team needs help improving a budget, we will help. If they need help focusing on the real issues of the business, our advising also has the tools that will help develop your employee’s soft-skills, such as our Stop/Start/Continue exercise.

In order to make sure that everyone is focusing on growing the business, we wanted to make sure that our strategies are as simple as possible. To make it easy to keep businesses on the same page, we created the Single-Page Plan.

The Single-Page Plan

The Single-Page Plan includes your vision, mission, Strategic Deployment Initiatives for each of the plan’s 5 pillars (Growth, Customer Delight, Innovation, Productivity and Great Place to Work [GPTW]). The last part of the plan are the targets, or the metrics and goals that are created to make the initiatives obtainable. Having this arrangement and view of the company allows employees to see all areas of the business in a way that is simple and easy to reference. The status of the targets, along with what we call, the Must Do/Can’t Miss items (used to keep your team on track to achieving the targets), are reviewed every month to keep your team accountable.

How You Measure Success is Key

Every business is going to have a unique set of metrics based on what their goals are. Some may want to preserve cash, others may want to invest into a new line of products, and others may want to steadily grow.

The Single-Page Plan has its own section for metrics in an area called Targets. This section lists each target individually and is associated with one of the 5 pillars of our Single-Page Plan: Growth, Customer Delight, Innovation, Productivity, and GPTW.

We focus on those five pillars of business as if there is success in these areas, your growth will happen naturally. This is in contrast to other advising services that focus mainly on financial metrics.
