Event: June2-3, 2015 Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference

The 13th annual Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference will be held June 2-3 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison

The two-day conference is one of the Midwest’s premiere “how-to,” hands-on events for entrepreneurs of all ages and experience levels. Attendees range from ‘treps who are still developing their ideas to emerging company leaders who have already attracted angel and/or venture funding. These businesses cover a broad span of categories, from information technology to cleantech, from advanced manufacturing to the life sciences, and from business services to consulting.

Keynote Speaker:

Jerry Jendusa will join the conference as one of the keynote speakers. As co-founder and CEO of EMTEQ, Jendusa led the aerospace company from a basement startup to an international business with seven locations in four countries, more than 630 employees and more than $100 million in sales. EMTEQ was sold in 2014. Jendusa was named 2014 EY Midwest “Entrepreneur of the Year” in advanced manufacturing. As co-founder of STUCK LLC, he focuses on business coaching, investing and giving back to the local community.

Event: October 7th, 2014 The Milwaukee Program Committee of the TMA is pleased to host “Building an Effective Board of Directors”

Program Highlights:

Entrepreneurs are Mavericks. Many of them left their jobs in the corporate world to pursue their dreams of starting their own business. They have put their hearts and souls (and capital) into their new venture and made it successful. They are used to making their own rules, doing things their own way. The last thing they want is to have to listen to a board of directors give advice about what they should do, right? Wrong. It will take a lot of resources and expertise that they most likely don’t have.

Think of a board of director’s as the guardrails on the super highway to success. A quality board is there to make sure that even though the owner may scrape against the rails from time to time, the owner does not ultimately leave the road and fail.
